Writing copy for web and mobile used to be an afterthought. Sometimes, designers would be entrusted with the task, other times, it was the marketing team who swooped in at the last minute to add some words to templates before pushing them live. Nowadays, though, most organizations recognize the need to rope in professional writers to help build their websites, online services, and mobile apps. Still the role of "UX writer" only recently made its debut. I created The Style of Elements to serve as a repository, a place to house all of the research I've done on the role of the writer in building web and mobile products. Hopefully, other UX writers and content strategists will find it useful.
